Katy is responsible
for the management of CPL Press external and in-house publishing activities, including
books, CD-ROMs, websites, databases, brochures, leaflets, etc. Katy also designed the
underlying structure for a number of large (several thousand page) websites run
by CPL Press and is responsible for much of the day-to-day administration of these activities. These include:
Katy also has overall responsibility within CPL for a number of European Projects including ManagEnergy and T@W.
In addition, Katy designs and develops in-house databases and final electronic publications,
including:
- the (NF-2000) Non-Food Uses CD-ROM
- the
Plant Cell Wall Degrading Enzymes Information System
- and
much of the Worldwide Directory of
Agrobiologicals on CD-ROM
She has either produced,
edited or contributed to the majority of CPL
Press publications.

With qualifications in computer science and information technology,
Katy's previous industrial experience was obtained in technical support and program
development for a company providing systems for insurance brokers and prior to
that with a company designing electronic entry control systems. For CPL, Katy
has been involved in production of books, newsletters, CD-ROMs, websites, brochures
and databases for the European Commission Directorate-Generals for Research (QLK5, FAIR, AIR, Biomass,
JOULE, LEBENews, BioMatNet, EPOBIO and the Biofuels Technology Platform) and Energy & Transport (database of biomass-related organisations, their ManagEnergy initiative and the T@W initiative). Katy has also developed a number of the
databases and other information systems, including those used in recruitment,
information and marketing as well as for production of CPL's directories, such
as the Worldwide Directory of Agrobiologicals.
